Third grade students from Hawthorne Elementary and other Keokuk schools visited the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program at the Keokuk High School on Feb. 28 for a Mini Career Fair. The students had the chance to experience hands-on activities that involved food preparation, construction, childcare, marketing, healthcare, and more with help from the KHS students and teachers in the programs.
“We want to start exposing our students at a younger age to different skills needed to get jobs while in high school and after graduation,” Jessica Koehler, KHS Teacher, said.
It is also CTE Month, which is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value and achievements of CTE programs across the country.
