Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
I have the privilege of serving as superintendent of Keokuk Community School District. I was born and raised in Keokuk and graduated from Keokuk High School (once a Chief – always a Chief), before leaving to attend the University of Iowa. I also attended Northern Illinois University and Western Illinois University where I was awarded my doctorate in educational leadership. I began my career as a speech-language pathologist, before teaching at the elementary level. I then spent some time as an elementary school principal and curriculum director before becoming a superintendent. I’ve been blessed with good experiences that have prepared me to return to the place that gave me so much and provided me with a foundation to chase my dreams.
I have been warmly welcomed to the district by our school community and spent the summer learning more about our staff, students, programs, and facilities. We have much to be proud of at KCSD! With the support of our school board, we are able to offer a wide range of experiences for our students, and I can say with confidence, that we have some of the best teachers and support staff in the region.
I look forward to this school year; to celebrating successes and embracing challenges; and continuing to improve opportunities for kids. My best to you for a successful 2023-2024!
