4-YEAR PLANS
The guidance office will be working with the 8th graders to prepare a 4-year course plan for high school. State law requires this plan along with a parent/guardian signature. Think of this 4-year plan of high school courses as a work in progress. It is amendable and will be reviewed each year. The web site, www.ihaveaplaniowa.gov, is used for exploring career options along with our Career Planner Tool, iCeV and Xello, for building the 4-year plans. The plan will be completed in Careers class. Parents may view and amend this plan at any time by clicking on the link above.
High School Registration
8th grade students will register for classes in early Spring semester. Registration is based on their 4-year plans, with additional recommendations from the 8th grade teachers. For additional information, call the middle school or high school guidance office.
IA Assessments
The Iowa Assessements (formerly the Iowa Test of Basic Skills) will be given during the month of April. This assessment is used by the State of Iowa and the federal government to determine Adequate Yearly Progress. The tests have been completely redesigned. Contact our guidance office for more information.
