The Keokuk Community School District is hosting a Back-to-School Bash from 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, in Rand Park in Keokuk. Students and families can meet teachers, play yard games, learn about band instruments from the KHS Band at a “Band Petting Zoo,” hang out with live goats, listen to music and enjoy a free cookout, while supplies last.
The cookout is sponsored by AIM Credit Union and will include one hot dog or hamburger, chips and a drink and will be served first come, first served.
The Bash is followed by the KCSD Open Houses from 6-8 p.m. at George Washington and Hawthorne Elementary Schools, Keokuk Middle School and Keokuk High School for grades kindergarten through twelfth. Students can meet their teachers, walk their schedule and drop off supplies.
The district will welcome students back for grades K-12 on Aug. 23 and for preschool on Sept. 3.
