Calvert Stadium will once again be the site of the annual Chief’s Sportin’ for A Cure Green Out on August 29th. In its 2nd year, this event is a fundraiser for Let’s Cure CP, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Cerebral Palsy, and the K-Play initiative that will help fund handicap playground equipment in our community. This will benefit area residents and families who live with CP, including Bentley McGhghy, son of head freshman coach Matt McGhghy and his wife, Nicole. The McGhghy’s have been instrumental in organizing this event to bring awareness to the Tristate area.
Hy-Vee is helping to support this worthwhile endeavor by selling T-shirts. Currently, over 1200 T-shirts have been purchased. Stop at the Customer Service counter for more information. The Chief’s opponent for the evening, Central Lee, has also pledged their support for this event.
