Beginning on Wednesday, September 11, Keokuk Middle School will implement a new procedure for 1:45 student dismissal. This change will affect only those students with grades lower than a C. The policy is outlined below.
The school will generate an eligibility report each Sunday night to decide who will stay for Wednesday Early Outs. Any student who has a D or an F will be expected to stay. KMS teachers will notify students and parents on the Monday and Tuesday prior to that Wednesday. Each student will be given the work they are missing, or the assignment(s) that needs to be redone. Teachers will bring their students to the cafeteria at the end of the day. Mrs. Benedict and the Middle School associates will work with the students each Wednesday. As the students complete assignments, the work will be collected and placed in the teacher’s mailbox. The students will be dismissed at 3:00 PM. Parents will be notified of students who failed to stay.
