Apples!

We are getting a head start for Farm to School month in October! Mrs. Hinton’s kindergarten class recently visited Baxter’s Apple Orchard in Nauvoo. The students enjoyed learning about growing apples, peaches and grapes. Students got to taste grape juice and grapes. They also got to pick their own apple to take home.

Hawthorne PBIS

Hawthorne held a PBIS Kickoff Saturday with a little help from the community. KHS Konnections volunteers, police officers, and firefighters helped staff with a family fun day.

Teacher Of The Year Reception

The celebration for Martha Neff as the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year will be held Tuesday, 5/3, at the KHS Cafeteria from 3:30-4:30.  Please join us as we celebrate Martha’s accomplishment. Shown is Mayor Marion signing a proclamation that Tuesday, 5/3, is Martha Neff Day!

Save The Date

Homecoming for the 2016-17 school year will be held the week of Oct.3rd. The parade and pep rally will be held on Oct. 6th with the game on Oct.7th against Oskaloosa. Go Chiefs!

KMS Hosts Board Work Session

The board held a monthly work session at Keokuk Middle School. Louis Clark, Industrial Technology instructor, explains his curriculum to the KCSD board members.

Celebration Of Writing

Feathers Perform At Tournament

Sophomore McKenna Tackes, Junior Alli Herr and Seniors Natalie Jones, Madison Pfaffe, and Kendall Rose were selected to represent Keokuk and the state of Iowa as part of the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team this week at the girls state basketball tournament. The Little Feathers are coached by Shannon Dunn.
