2017-2018 Keokuk Community Schools Teacher of the Year

Jesse Greenslaugh, Keokuk Middle School special education teacher, was honored as the 2017-2018 Keokuk Community Schools Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made on November 21 during a student acknowledgement assembly by Keokuk School District superintendent, Christine Barnes. Nominations for this honor are made yearly, and rotate throughout the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Nominations are accepted from members of the community, students and staff. A group comprised of students, staff, community members, and those previously named as Teacher of the Year assists in the final selection process.

Jesse Greenslaugh has a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education (with endorsements in special ed, reading and coaching) from William Penn University in Oskaloosa. This is her eighth year of teaching at Keokuk Middle School and she has taught middle school special education in the Cardinal of Eldon School District prior to Keokuk.
