Manners On Menu At Pre-K Cafe

Ms. Betty’s Pre-kindergarten class has opened “Pre-k Cafe.”  The children are learning restaurant manners as they learn to write words and numbers while taking food orders.

Girls Bowling State Bound

Congratulations to Coach Moore and the girls bowling team. They won the regional tournament this afternoon in Mt. Pleasant and have qualified for the state bowling tournament in Des Moines on February 24th. Sydney Kramer was 5th, Lakyn Boltz was 3rd, and Hannah Seyb was first at the regional tournament. Great job!

Young Authors

 K-2 Extended Learning students wrote and illustrated their own books using the 6+1 Traits of Writing. They were proud to share their final products with an authentic audience – their peers!

Future Problem Solvers

On Monday, February 9th, 17 students from KMS and KHS went to Mt. Pleasant to compete in a Future Problem Solving Regional Competition.  They had 2 hours to complete a 6-step problem that involved a scene in the future involving propaganda. Hawthorne PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) is SNOW much fun!  Thursday and Friday Hawthorne students participated in ‘snowball’ fights to celebrate Respectful, Responsible, and Ready behavior.
