Kindergarten students wrote and illustrated fiction stories and were proud to share their finished books with a real audience of peers and adults. They also wrote nonfiction pieces including a dedication and personal biography. Students entered the annual Lee County Writing Contest sponsored by the Lee County Chapter of the Iowa Reading Association.

We are getting a head start for Farm to School month in October! Mrs. Hinton’s kindergarten class recently visited Baxter’s Apple Orchard in Nauvoo. The students enjoyed learning about growing apples, peaches and grapes. Students got to taste grape juice and grapes. They also got to pick their own apple to take home.
