State Tennis Qualifiers

Alexis Kemp and Lakyn Boltz qualified for Iowa State Tennis Doubles Thursday, May 21.  They will play in Ankeny IA on June 4-5.  This is their second time qualifying. Good luck to Kelby Kies who long jumps at the state track meet in Des Moines at 11:30 today. Good Luck girls!

Book Reading Award

First grader Christine Condren received the Mensa Excellence in Reading Award. She completed the K-3 Mensa reading list of 64 books including “Charlotte’s Web” and “Bedtime For Francis.”

National History Day Award

Madeline Berner received a special literary award at the state National History Day contest in Des Moines for her website Forevermore: Edgar Allan Poe’s Leadership and Legacy in the Literary World. Governor Branstad (pictured here) spoke at the awards ceremony about his love of history and the impact his teachers had on his life.
